Speed Sail - Playback Speed Controls
Speed Sail is a Chrome add-on that allows you to change the playback speed of videos and audio clips in your current tab. Whether you need to slow down videos for language learning or speed up lectures to save time, Speed Sail offers a range of playback speed options to make your life easier.
With Speed Sail, you can apply speed changes to every supported video and audio clip in the current tab. It also provides a default speed button, allowing you to quickly switch back to the standard 1x speed. The speed ranges from 0.25x to 16x, giving you flexibility in adjusting the playback to your preference.
The add-on supports various websites including YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook, making it compatible with your favorite platforms. However, it's important to note that Speed Sail does not currently support websites like Spotify and SoundCloud. Additionally, the add-on is only available in English.
The recent updatebrings some improvements to the extension. When opening the pop-up, the slider will now be set to the last speed you applied, making it easier to reapply a speed selection. The slider values have also been adjusted for better usability, with increments of 0.25 for values from 0.25 to 2, and increments of 1 for values from 2 to 16.
Speed Sail was developed by Ryan Helgoth, who wrote all the JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the add-on. Jonah Farkasdi contributed by creating the logos and promotional image. You can find the code and references used by Ryan Helgoth on the project's GitHub page.
Give Speed Sail a try if you're looking for a simple and efficient way to control the playback speed of videos and audio clips in your browser.
